Text of email to regular users Oct 30th 2025
At the meeting of Trustees on October 23rd it was agreed to raise hire fees by approx 4% with effect from 1st November. Rates for regular users will change for hires after 1st January. We are also introducing a discount for users who book same day consecutive sessions, or at short notice. Saturday bookings will now be session based rather than hourly. We were seeing bookings running mid-morning to mid-afternoon which was not a good use of the facility.
New rates can be seen on the website https://www.sedlescombevillagehall.org.uk/prices-from-november-2025.html
We know this will not be welcome but we have held hire fees as low as possible for the last two years, helped by a very favourable gas contract, now ended, and the parking fee for the FlexiBus.
However, not only have our costs risen but the sewage system has been refurbished at a cost of £10000 which we need to recoup over the next few years.
In addition, the Parish Council as owners of the car park require us to share the revenue from minibus parking. The amount is still to be finalised but is anticipated to be equivalent to a loss to us of £3 to £4 per day.
The increase is, in most cases, equivalent to £1 per session which we hope you will feel is reasonable.
